Saint Benedict

Who was St. Benedict?

Benedict of Nursia OSB, often known as Saint Benedict, was an Italian Christian monk, writer, and theologian who is venerated in the Catholic Church, the Eastern Orthodox Church, the Oriental Orthodox Churches, the Anglican Communion, and Old Catholic Churches. He is a patron saint of Europe.

Why do we pray to St. Benedict?

St Benedict's prayer enables the monks to lift the stone on which the devil is sitting. That's the power of prayer for you. As Christianity spreads during the Dark Ages, St. Benedict gains a reputation for performing great miracles and also levying strict discipline.

What was the motto of Saint Benedict?

St Benedict's motto was Ora et Labora (prayer and work). Laborare Est Orare (to work is to pray), detail of a nineteenth-century painting by John Rogers Herbert, showing Benedictine monks at work.

What is St. Benedict's prayer?

O Lord, I place myself in your hands and dedicate myself to you. I pledge myself to do your will in all things: To love the Lord God with all my heart, all my soul, all my strength. Not to kill.

Prayer to Saint Benedict for a happy death

This prayer to Saint Benedict for a happy death should be prayed daily, as the prayer itself states. Placing ourselves under the protection of St Benedict is yet another spiritual armor a devout Catholic can put on for protection against spiritual attacks. It is at the hour of death when Satan and his angels most especially attack devout souls as it is Hell's last chance to steal these souls away from God. Saint Benedict, being the patron saint of exorcisms, is a powerful defender against the Devil.

Prayer to Saint Benedict for a Happy Death

V. Intercede for us, O holy Father Benedict.

R. And obtain for us the grace of a happy death.

O holy Father Benedict, whose very name signifies your blessedness, you most joyfully offered your angelic soul to God while you stood in prayer with your arms raised to heaven.

You have promised to defend us from the Devil’s attacks at the hour of death if we daily recall to you your own glorious death and heavenly joys.

Protect me, therefore, O glorious Father, today and every day by your holy blessing, so that I may never be separated from our blessed Jesus, nor from the company of you and all the saints. Amen.

O God, who adorned the precious death of our most holy Father, Saint Benedict, with so many and so great privileges, grant, we beseech You, that our departure hence, we may be defended from the snares of the enemy by the blessed presence of him whose memory we celebrate. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

What is the best relationship quote?

"Love is composed of a single soul inhabiting two bodies." "I would rather share one lifetime with you, than face all the ages of this world alone." "The best thing to hold onto in life is each other." "You know you're in love when you can't fall asleep because reality is finally better than your dreams."

Loyalty!!!

Confidentiality is a virtue of the loyal, as loyalty is the virtue of faithfulness. Without loyalty, you won't accomplish anything. You give loyalty, and you'll get it back. You give love, and you'll get it back.

As long as God is there with me…

Maybe people can...

Prayer To Blessed Carlo Acutis

Which is a short prayer to my son on his Birthday?

Dear Lord

For My Son's Faith

Lord God, I come before You with humble hands on behalf of my son, praying not only for his physical safety and Peaceful well-being but for his spiritual walk with You. Help him Understand your way, And of all the things I want my son to be strong & hold fast to, he's faith in Your Son Jesus that we long for most.

For my Son's Purity

Lord God, I pray that You will create in my son a clean heart and that You would constantly renew a right spirit within him, keeping his thoughts and actions pure and motivated by love. Guard him against temptation, and let him know You are always faithful to give him a way out and help to endure his dreams.

Bless him, Lord.

It can be as simple as saying, “God bless you, sweet boy” or marking the child's forehead with the sign of the cross, using your thumb. The words and the gesture can feel like a blanket, a soft covering before the child goes into the darkness just before sleep. Start the day with a blessing.

Happy Birthday, Evan Boy...

The key is submission to God and walking in the truth of Christ daily: “Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you” (James 4:7).

A Father's Pray for His Wife and Children

Heavenly Father,

I thank you for the gift of my family, for whom I now pray and upon whom I now ask you to shower your blessings. With Saint Joseph as my guide, for I will always love and cherish them. Even when I m away from them. I will never forget them.

Bless my wife whom you have given to me as my spouse, sharing in your wondrous work of creation. May I see her as my equal and treat her with the love of Christ for his Church. May Mary be her guide and help her find your peace and grace.

Bless my children with your life and presence. May the example of your Son be the foundation upon which their lives are built, that the Gospel may always be their hope and support.

I ask you, Father, to protect and bless my family. Watch over them when I m gone, so that in the strength of your love its members may enjoy prosperity, possess the gift of your peace, and, as the Church alive in this home, always bear witness to your glory in the world.

Amen.

PSALM 23 - A Psalm of David.

A psalm of David.
1The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.
2He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters,
3he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake.
4Even though I walk through the darkest valley,
23:4 Or the valley of the shadow of death
I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
5You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.
6Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

‘I will put My Spirit in you and you will live…’

 Verse:   Ezekiel 37:14

‘I will put My Spirit in you and you will live…’

- It is the Lord Who makes all the difference in our lives.

- He comes to bring life and hope into our hearts and souls.

- His Spirit makes us alive from the inside.

- Real life is only possible if He lives within us.

PRAYER: Lord, today I open the door of my heart and I ask You to come and live within me. Fill me with Your Spirit, I pray. I want to live and enjoy all that You have prepared for me. So I ask that You will put Your Spirit within me so that I can truly live. Amen.

Nature Boy - Moulin Rouge Soundtrack

There was a boy, a very strange enchanted boy.

They say he wandered very far, very far, Over land and sea.

A little shy and sad of eye, But very wise was he.

And then one day, A magic day he passed my way.

And while we spoke of many things, Fools, and kings.

This he said to me,

"The greatest thing you'll ever learn, Is just to love and be loved in return"

"The greatest thing you'll ever learn, Is just to love and be loved in return"

Marriage

"Marriage is tough, marriage is work, and marriage is a full-time job. It takes a lot of time to grow and requires you to learn, grow, and compromise," says a licensed mental health counselor and life coach.

"During this journey of learning, growing, and developing, sometimes, for various reasons, people drift away from one another. As individuals and couples, we put a lot of time, money, energy, and sweat equity into building a marriage. But, if it doesn't work out, for some, it is hard to admit it."
